Bio
Karlina is a producer with over 20 years of experience in educational media, documentary, and independent film, including domestic and international projects.
Karlina started out in script development at CineTel Films in Los Angeles in 1996. A year later, she moved to New York and joined the International Production department at Sesame Workshop. In 2005, Karlina returned to her New England roots and became a consulting producer for the Cambodian Educational Media Initiative (CEMI), a partnership between WGBH and World Education. Through CEMI, she produced Cambodian adaptations of Sesame Street, PEEP and the Big Wide World, and Rx for Survival.
Her work later expanded to include documentary and feature film production. Her credits include The Ghost Trap (2024), Light Attaching to a Girl (2022), and The Heroin Effect (2017).
Most recently, Karlina has been filming and editing stories for international NGOs. She has worked with organizations including SEED Madagascar and World Education, producing content in Cambodia, eSwatini, and Madagascar. She also serves on World Education's Bantwana Advisory Board.
Karlina holds a B.S. in Mass Communication from Emerson College and an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School. In 2014, she received a Boston/New England Emmy for her work on a national child abuse awareness PSA for the Granite Street Children's Alliance. In 2024, she earned a Certificate in Learning Design and Technology from Harvard Extension School.
